Emergency Housing Resources


WINTER OVERNIGHT SHELTERS
(Open 12/1/2019 through 3/31/2020)

Susquehanna Harbor Safe Haven (MEN ONLY)
1805 North 12th Street, Harrisburg, PA
Check-in runs nightly between 8pm - 10pm.  Check-out time is 7am the following morning.
Coffee, tea and small snack available to single men.  No meals, no showers.
​Capacity is 25 guests.
Downtown Daily Bread Emergency Night Shelter (MEN ONLY)
234 South Street, Harrisburg, PA
Check-in runs nightly from 7:30pm - 8:30pm.  Check-out time is 7am the following morning.
Lights out at 10pm.  No meals, no showers.
​Capacity is 40 guests.
Bethesda Mission (MEN ONLY)
Male guests are accepted when the wind-chill falls below 20 degrees or when there is significant snowfall / freezing rain / sleet.
Check-in runs from 8pm - 9pm.  Check-out time is 6:30am the following morning.
Lights out at 10:30pm.
Christian Churches United (WOMEN AND NON-BINARY INDIVIDUALS)
216 State Street, Harrisburg, PA (The Wesley House of Grace United Methodist Church)
Check-in begins at 8pm.

Bethesda Men's Mission (MEN ONLY)
611 Reily Street, Harrisburg, PA 17102

Bethesda Men's Mission can provide emergency shelter for transient males, recovery residential and spiritual development program, medical clinic (limited and by appointment only), and served meals and community soup kitchen.
Shalom House (WOMEN AND CHILDREN ONLY)
Shalom House is committed to emergency sheltering for homeless women and children.  Shalom House can provide for basic needs: a bed, food, clothing, health and hygiene supplies, and a temporary address and telephone number.

Interfaith Shelter For Homeless Families (FAMILIES)
The Interfaith Shelter provides emergency shelter, assistance in finding and securing permanent housing, basic needs, such as clothing, food and baby supplies, referrals to other agencies to address the issues such as employment, life skills, mental and physical health, housing and child care, and intensive case management services to help clients confront the challenges that lead to homelessness and poverty.
