Mentoring Programs
CRESC currently has several Successful Ex-Offender Mentoring programs.
The first has been on-going for over two and a half years in collaboration with Dauphin County Probation & Parole Agency at 917 Gibson Boulvevard, every Thursday evening from 6:00 to 7:30. This program has been monitored and evaluated after the initial two years and has shown outstanding results.
A second program has started as a collaboration with PA State Probation & Parole. It is located at 2001 N. Front St. Bldg. 2 Suite 321 Harrisburg, PA. The program runs on Tuesday's from 2:30 to 4:00.
Both programs award the participants with Certificates of Completion as well as having Court Fines reduced for active and consistent participation.
Another "faith-based" mentoring program is Friends Over Fences (click). They meet at Grantham Brethren in Christ Church Wednesday evenings from 6-7:30pm (dinner provided). 421 Grantham Road, Mechanicsburg, PA. No reservation required. The major focus is on inmates and parolees from the Camp Hill Corrections facility. In addition to the Wednesday evening supper and workshops, they conduct visitations to different churches each Sunday. They have a men's breakfast every Saturday morning at John's Diner for mentors and mentorees.
