The Employment Support and Resource Committee aims to serve both re-entrants and employers throughout the employment process. The committee works to develop new, as well as promote existing, resources that support re-entrants in their goal of obtaining sustainable employment. In addition to serving re-entrants, the committee also seeks to educate employers on the benefits of hiring re-entrants and inform the broader community of re-entry resources.

Since Greg Shirk (Supv. WOTC/FBP) and I teamed together to promote WOTC and FBP, it has become increasingly evident that employers throughout the Commonwealth are not aware that these programs are available to them as an incentive to hire “at-risk” or “high-risk” applicants.
Over the past five (5) months, Greg and I have presented workshops, spoken at employer symposiums, and conducted webinars to employers and BWDP field staff to increase awareness of these programs. Additionally, the Department of Corrections (DOC), Bureau of Community Corrections has expressed interest in working with us to get the word out to local business communities.
Creating program awareness for FBP and WOTC in local business communities cannot be accomplished without the support and assistance from our local PA CareerLinks®, as well as the State Centers and Contract Facilities within the Bureau of Community Corrections at the DOC .
The above attachments are forwarded for your review and can be used as handouts to any job seekers with a barrier that prevents them from obtaining employment. The attached WORD documents can be amended and tailored to fit individual situations. Additional information regarding FBP and WOTC is available at: www.bonds4jobs.com, and www.dli.state.pa.us respectfully.
Greg and I look forward to working with you and assisting your Staff as we move forward to promote these programs.
Thank You
